The Dealer Finance Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing authorized Canon Dealer inventory finance portfolios. The position is responsible to provide extraordinary customer service to external and internal customers and work within a team environment with Risk Management, Portfolio Management, Asset Management, and Finance to ensure inventory loans and assets are monitored and secured. The position will perform annual credit and collection reviews and submit recommendations to Risk Management for approval. The position does not possess any credit or documentation signing authority.

  • Responsible for portfolio performance and key metrics including collections of principal and interest, unapplied cash, collateral, past due credit reviews.
  • Principal interface for Dealer Inventory Finance Programs, who develops and maintains strong working relationships with Authorized Canon Dealers, which may include Dealer visits.
  • Performs annual credit and collection reviews on existing Dealer accounts &amp: submits recommendations for credit line increases / decreases to Underwriting for approval.
  • Independently completes financial statement spreadsheets and analyzes ratios, trends, profit, cash flow and payment performance.
  • Analyzes delinquencies, loss severity, and performance of products and programs and reports findings to Manager monthly.
  • Communicates with Dealers to obtain required credit and financial information and documentation.
  • Handles operational issues and pending over-line orders, within pre-established company approved and system controlled guidelines and tolerances, for Dealers in a timely matter.
  • Provides extraordinary service for Dealers and resolves their concerns in a timely and appropriate matter.
  • Seeks guidance from Senior Dealer Sales Finance Specialist and reports to Dealer Sales Finance Manager.
  • Provides coverage support for all inventory financing portfolios.
  • Regularly updates system comments to keep all parties informed of the collection or credit status.
  • Completes assigned Canon Academy and other courses on or before due date and demonstrates required.
  • Contributes to attaining team and individual goals, as defined or modified.
  • Minimizes CFS delinquency and charge offs to meet yearly goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor?s Degree in a related area or equivalent work experience.
  • Requires two plus years of working knowledge of commercial credit systems as well as corporate financial systems.
  • Requires four plus years of work experience in the financial services industry.
  • Working knowledge of credit concepts and financial statement analysis.
  • Proven creativity and inventory financing structuring ability.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of inventory financing operations.
  • Proven extraordinary customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of Wholesale Management Systems preferred.
  • Team player with high energy, positive outlook and professional demeanor who takes initiative.
  • Strong desire to pursue a career in the financial services industry.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines with accuracy.
  • Demonstrated experience with the use of PCs, along with the ability to navigate in a multi-window based environment. Advanced knowledge level of Excel and Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on rapport building, listening, and questioning skills.
  • Must be able to exhibit written and oral communications skills to a standard as set by Canon Financial Services.
  • Proven experience using analytical problem solving skills and math skills required.
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced, conflict resolution environment and utilizing the necessary skills to consistently perform to Canon Financial Services standards.
