His business card reads ?Sales Manager? but in reality James Collins is a business owner. He stands at the head of our thriving Motorrad department and manages it like an entrepreneur manages his business. Paying bills, selling bikes, managing his staff, orchestrating track days, and keeping his inventory and showroom in tip top shape. What makes dealing with James such an enjoyable experience is that all of his knowledge, skills, and confidence do not take away from his ability to understand and listen to his customers. He?ll always make time for a chat or an exciting story, and once you?ve told yours, he?ll fire back with one of his own. Listening to James talk about his endeavors on a BMW motorcycle will quickly have listeners suffering from a medicalcondition called ?drop jaw?.
Having wrestled his way up the Motorrad corporate ladder, James started out with the company in 2001, as a detailer at the BMW Experience Center. A Durham area history lesson is needed to explain how the BMW Experience Center eventually became Endras BMW. Just know that James has been with us since the get go. Throughout the location, ownership, and name changes, James stuck by and showed his resilience by continually moving up in rank, from the detailing team, to the parts team, and eventually to Motorrad Sales Manager.
James, like everyone else here at Endras BMW, loves all things BMW. He?s a self confessed BMW nut with a track record to show for it. He?s owned four BMW?s, all of which had three pedals and needed their own gears rowed. His current wheels are a silver 2011 335i Sedan. Although something tells us that?s about to change as he?s been caught eying the 2011 Monte Carlo Blue 335is in our showroom. However impressive a car he may drive, he?s known to always choosing two wheels over four when heading down to the local race track.
This then neatly brings us to his love affair with BMW bikes. He says he?s owned just about every modern BMW bike produced, and currently rides both a R1200GS and black S1000RR. Just this morning he told us that he?s found the ?winning work life balance?, seamlessly combining his number one passion with his career. And with BMW Motorrad at the top of the game, enjoying a stellar year in sales and unparalleled praise for their current line up, James has absolutely loved working for the brand.
Living in Pickering with his lovely wife Genevieve, James jokes that she?s a professional long distance passenger. Having spent several long days on the back of a R1200RT riding down to Florida, that title is surely well deserved. His favorite hobbies include track days, touring, dirt biking, photography, and traveling. But if you hadn?t already figured out most of those than you must not have been reading this article very carefully.
